Venturing out for a long day of sample collection on a remote island might be daunting for some researchers, but USask graduate student Victoria Crozier and her colleague, undergraduate student Olivia Andres, jump at the opportunity to explore the sandy shores of Sable Island, Nova Scotia. Sable Island’s feral horses give USask’s team of researchers the opportunity to gather information about their microbiomes and study genetics, behaviour and social structures.
