Here’s what people are saying:
“We had a total of 8 girls and 4 loved horses but had never touched one before let alone been on one. They all loved it so when we sat down and they opened the math book and started looking through it one of the girls who hates school asked if she could do the whole book:-). We almost had to pick the mom up off the floor.”
“This book is absolutely amazing! My daughter absolutely loves it, which I figured she would. However, I didn’t know what to expect in terms of math skills. I am extremely pleased with its quality and the actual math it covers. It is reviewing concepts we’ve already learned and need to practice and introducing her to to new material in a way she thoroughly enjoys, and more importantly, resonates with her because it involves horses. I will definitely be buying grade 5 when it comes out, and I’d love to see more horse lover workbooks in different subjects! Horse lovers grammar, spelling, or copywork would be so wonderful! Hint, hint :)” –Erin, homeschooling parent

Amy – My daughter loves this book. We home school and it fits into the rest of her curriculum of horses. She is studying Beautiful Feet History of the horse. Please let me know about workbook 2 and 3.

Another homeschooling family here that loves the Horse Lover’s Math Workbook. We use these workbooks as a fun assignment when my kiddo needs a break from the “boring” math program we use on a regular basis. We are looking forward to future levels.

Thank you ? As a homeschooler, these online resources are so helpful. My daughter is horse crazy but not so maths crazy and she is loving this. There has obviously been considerable time and energy put into developing this and it is absolutely value for money. Highly recommended ?

A lifesaver, supplementary Math curriculum. My 12 year old daughter loves horses, but dislikes to Math, was very excited and interested in completing daily assignments. It taught her concepts she had not yet learned and reinforced what she already knows. Needless to say, we were very excited to see a Book 2.
Customer service is FANTASTIC. Although we purchased this curriculum through another supplier, emails were timely answered.
Thank you again for a great product.

Excellent product! It covers quite a bit of math, and I love that it incorporates horses in a natural, meaningful way. My daughter and I learned so much about horses from this Workbook!

My daughter is currently in fourth grade and is obsessed with horses, so naturally finding a math curriculum that was tied to one of her favorite things seemed like a great idea. When we received this workbook she immediately started working on it and even takes it in the car to do for fun. What I like about it is that it ties math into real life scenarios of owning and/or taking care of a horse, all while covering key math topics that she needs to know for her grade level. Finding a curriculum with practical application to real life is huge. She’s having such a great time completing Level 1 that we’ve already purchased book 2. To see her excited about math while expanding her knowledge about horses makes this book a winner in our household!

My son really enjoyed this even though it was geared toward girls.

My daughter absolutely loved this math curriculum. She used to cry when I said she needed to do her math, and after buying this, I could barely get her to put it away for other work. She plans to own a ranch one day, and this curriculum has been very helpful for her job at the ranch she is currently working on. Everything was very easy for her to understand, and most of the work she was able to do without any help. Very relevant to anyone looking forward to an equine career field, or for someone that owns horses!

We found the workbook to be a terrific way to have our daughter apply maths knowledge in a very meaningful way. She would tend to avoid word based problems as it can often be a challenge for her to identify what the key information in a word problem is, which parts to extract, and which operations to use to solve a problem. This book is fantastic for simply keeping her switched on as the elements are so relevant. The book also requires children to tap into mental agility for manipulating numbers as it is designed in such a way that they need to really interpret the information from a variety of perspectives. I highly recommend the book, and even though my daughter is in grade 6, I’m just about to purchase book two as a resource for her to enjoy 😉 and a great way for her to keep her maths skills up! Thank you for taking the time to create this for horsey kids everywhere!

We homeschool and my daughter has finished Level 1 and looking forward to Level 2 very much. My daughter is a bit old for it- but the lessons are pertinent to what she enjoys and offer solid, real life math for someone like her who lives and breathes horses. She did Level 1 alongside Pre-Algebra and what a wondeful offset and math that made sense to her and was applicable to her love of horses. I plan to pair Level 2 with Algebra and only hope for a Level 3. Does not feel like math to her, but an elective that she loves and enjoys and can’t wait to talk to me about and share her learning.
Honestly we need more course like this- make math APPLY to a child’s love of something and it will go so much further. As we wait *hope* for leve 3 we will use the many other lovely resources this site has to share. As a homeschool parent tailoring our curriculum to where our children are playing off their strengths and supporting their areas of need- this was a gold mine of a find!

We ordered these great workbooks for our daughter and have loved every minute. It is wonderful to see her excited about learning math equations and facts! The stories are fascinating, the problems are all spot on for learning and put into a context that is not only fun for her to learn but also applicable to her life. She hopes to be in the horse field in some capacity as an adult and this is a great way to store up that knowledge. All around good. thank you

This has to be the future of education!
My daughter has never been fond of math, it’s not like she gave up on the way, rather that it never made sense to her on a fundamental level. Homework has been one long frustrating sighing “why do I have to learn it, what can I use it for”. On the other hand, she spend all days at the stable eager to learn and become better and more knowledgeable – absolutely determined she wants to become a horse trainer, when she grows up. And I have started wondering and asking myself:
Why am I (and the school, the system) forcing her to do math homework if we can’t even explain in a meaningful way, why it matters. And can we explain this without looking at each child individually. This opens up another discussion about whether we really should aim at children reaching the same educational levels and at the same time. However, regardless of this, I think we should be able to provide the children with meaningful context.
– And whoa, does this book do that 🙂 It sure does. My daughter still hates math, but loves horse math (which she regards as an entire different discipline :-). This book taps into an interest (that so many people share) and shows how math matters. It shows that math is not just something unexplainable needed for higher education or bookkeeping, but that math can be utilized to understand horses better, be a better rider, provide the optimal settings for the horses and so on. It shows math as a fundamental part of this world that matters even in our relationship to animals. It takes math out of the classroom and make it living and fun – out in real world, where math is all around us.
I can just hope, that more books are on its way 🙂 Maybe in the future, we could also get a Horse Lover’s Math Summer Camp!
