Kids learn how to tie a Highwayman’s knot so they can tie up a horse safely. Braiding a horse’s mane takes practice. A braiding board is a great way to put in the time they’ll need to learn to braid well and they don’t need a horse to do it! Running braids, diamond braids, short braids with elastics or yarn, it’s all there for them to learn and practice.
Symmetry is everywhere in the world around us. We see it in the ceiling of a church, a painting on the wall—and the face of a horse. Kids will create and use a line of symmetry to complete a drawing of a horse’s face.
Many people love to add a little sparkle to their horse’s tack. Clear instructions are given for how to make a ribbon browband. A recipe for saddle soap finishes off this section of the Level 2 workbook.
